This past week we took off to Cancun, Mexico so I could stand by my friend, Amanda, as she married her love, Dalton. The airport in Houston was a breeze with the girls as we were able to wear them in our LILLEbaby carriers through security!Notice the blue Dum-Dum…SO glad I grabbed a bag of those at the last minute. If you’re traveling with a toddler you need lots of treats, and the fun snacks I packed didn’t cut it. Dum-Dum to the rescue (over and over and over again!). While The Hubs and Logan grabbed lunch for the flight, I sat at our gate nursing Morgan and I heard someone say my name. I looked up to see one of our favorite people of all time—-our midwife, Melissa! I’m so glad she suggested we snap a picture. (It reminds me I need to finish Morgan’s birth story.)We boarded the flight, and sat and sat and sat. Someone decided to check their luggage but not board the flight so it all had to be unloaded until that passengers was found and taken off the plane. Those 30 minutes were not a good addition for Logan. Once we were in the air, she did pretty well. Logan decided to throw an epic tantrum as soon as we approached the customs line in Mexico (I can’t blame her…the flight took off 30 minutes late and then we had to sit in the air in Cancun for about 40 minutes while the weather cleared…and she was 2 hours passed her nap time.) and we are so glad she did. One of the customs officers saw how she was behaving and pushed us to the front of the line. Thank goodness!
Once we were all settled in our hotel, both girls took a nap and woke up ready to have some fun! We decided to upgrade our room and it was a great decision. Not only did we need the extra space but Logan loved that she could jump off our patio into the pool.
Logan quickly learned how to order her very own strawberry or banana drink, and said the sweetest ‘Thank you!’ to the bartender as soon as he gave it to her.
Thanks to the Hubs for getting the girls ready for the wedding while I had my hair and make-up done with the other bridesmaids. The ceremony and reception were very pretty! Logan was very well behaved at the reception ad loved the maracas.Amanda and her son Knox on her first morning as a married woman!Saturday morning we spent some time at the beach. As soon as Logan was done playing with the sand and realized there was water there she wanted to stay in the ocean. When I wasn’t wearing Morgan in our LILLE she was nursing. Something about the wind in her hair made her hungry! We had a late breakfast with Dora and Boots and some other characters. I wish I had captured the look on her face when Dora walked in the room….the biggest grin!
We spent the rest of the day going to the beach and swimming at the pool. Logan had so much fun!
The Hubs was able to take a short little nap and Morgan chilled out as well.
Despite the 3:30am wake-up time to come home the flight home was much smoother. We ended the weekend celebrating my 33rd birthday. The Hubs and Logan made me the prettiest cake with Logan picking out every detail. Traveling with 2 kiddos is kind of tough, but SO very worth it for all the memories, smiles and laughs we had in Cancun. Congrats Amanda and Dalton!
great pictures. I am glad you had fun
Looks like a great time….and a trip you need a vacation from:)
