Wordful Wednesday

It’s time for me to get back in shape, and I know what I need to do. I have to eat healthy and workout. I can no longer use the excuse ‘I just had a baby’ becuase my baby is almost 9 months old…wow, that went fast! I recently stopped breastfeeding Logan, which was a difficult decision as I wanted to do it for one year, but we made it 8.5 months. If you would have asked me when she was 3 days old if I would have been able to breastfeed her for one week I would have said ‘no’. So, I will take our 8.5 months of sweet nursing sessions and pumping and popping milk making herbs and pills and be very happy with it—really, I will do a post on our nursing struggle. I am using the Lose It! app to log all my food and working out 6 days a week. Every Friday I get off early and we have late lunch/early dinner as a family so that will be my cheat meal and rest day. For me, in order to eat healthy it’s all about planning and being prepared. The Hubs, Logan and I went to the grocery store Sunday and got our healthy food for the week. We prepared as much as we could Sunday evening. The Hubs grilled burgers (90/10 beef), chicken breasts, shrimp and small steak filets. I assembled salads, baked asparagus, cooked rice, made salad dressing and washed/chopped fresh fruit and vegetables. I am very pleased with the salads and could probably eat this one every day:wordlesswednesday
According to Lose It! this salad has 264 calories! It’s very filling and delicious and I have energy after lunch and am not sluggish. As of today, I am 9 pounds from my goal weight, but my main focus is not the number on the scale. I feel good eating fresh, healthy, nutrient rich food. Most importantly, we are feeding this food to Logan and she is loving it. I want to be healthy for her and show her that eating well and being active makes you feel good…my mom did this for me and I am very grateful. Thanks mom!
